About this Course

This is an entry-level* course for beginners wishing to learn English.
This course is designed to provide students from non-English speaking backgrounds with an opportunity to improve their English language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. The course also develops employment and living skills, knowledge of Australian society and strategies for successful transition into work or further study in Australia.

*All students complete an assessment to determine which level of EAL is appropriate.

How students are assessed

Assessment occurs using a variety of methods to identify essential skills and knowledge acquired during the training. These methods may include:

  • Role plays
  • Observation and demonstration
  • Oral questions and answers
  • Case studies
  • Written assignments
  • Research projects and presentations
Duration

26 weeks. 2 days per week – 9.30am – 3pm

Fees for this course

$125.00 – Tuition for Victorian Government subsidies places
$25.00 – Tuition for students with a valid concession card
$60.00 – Resource Fees
