About

Introduction to Aged Care is an ideal course to improve your industry-specific LN levels, particularly if you are below Level 2 on the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). It focuses on the literacy and numeracy contextualised for the aged care sector.

You will learn core speaking, listening, reading, writing, and numeracy skills, which we include in aged care topic-based content. 

You will use a range of materials from the sector to complete set tasks during the course. Each topic addresses basic vocabulary that is useful across the aged care sector, which you will then apply to reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication tasks. 

You will enhance your employability skills by participating in integrated learning activities.

Duration and Location

Duration: 80 hours – 14 sessions
Location: WCIG Footscray, or for group delivery we can come to you.

Entry Requirements

  • Permanent Resident, Australian Citizen residing in Victoria. 
  • Currently not enrolled in School. 

Education and Employment Pathways

  • Volunteer in Aged Care Sector
  • Education pathways into CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
