Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) covers the basics of childhood development and caring for children. You will gain the skills and expertise to provide quality education in an early childhood setting, helping educators to provide a healthy, safe and caring environment for children. The qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework.

There are no entry requirements or prerequisites for this qualification. You will be enrolled in a qualification at the level appropriate to your needs. You will be need to complete a Pre-Training Review, including a language, literacy and numeracy assessment, to identify if strategies need to be developed to assist you during your study.

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course is delivered across 50 weeks (not including school holidays, public holidays and practical placement).
- 14 hours per week of blended delivery (online trainer-led delivery), includes once per month simulated workplace learning at our training centre at WCIG Footscray
- 4 hours per week of additional individual learning support
- 10 – 15 hours of student led activity per week
- 160 hours of work placement
