Introduction to Google Docs and Google Sheets

This course aims to provide learners with the confidence and skills to keep in step with innovation and requirement changes in the workplace. It also aims to give learners the confidence to embrace digital skills in the workplace and successfully use technology as a means for gaining or maintaining secure and meaningful employment

The topics covered in the course include:

  • identify key information required in a job application and study and adapt good samples of a cover letter identify and use generic formatting conventions (cover letter) and learn about resumes and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • open and create a document in Google Docs TM,save a Google Doc TM to several locations, share a Google Doc, TMcustomise resume templates in Google Docs TM and Google Sheets TM  and produce a resume with a focus on the job description 
  • format cells and a range of cells in Google Sheets TM and explore and apply some basic formulas, complete an expenses spreadsheet  and apply self-calculating GST formulas on items in a spreadsheet
  • learn to organise, share, and print Google Docs TM  and Google Sheets TM and email a file from within Google Docs TM and Google Sheets TM
