WCIG is Working for Victoria

07/04/2020

The Victorian State Government has launched a program called “Working For Victoria”, allocating $500 million to assist people who have lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19.

WCIG’s Jobs Victoria Employment Network (JVEN) team has been asked to assist in screening 60,000 Victorians registered so far.  As one of only three providers asked to assist, we will work alongside the Jobs Bank and Jobs Victoria team to deliver the program.

This initiative will enable Victorian employers have ready access to a large pool of job-ready and eager individuals to fill numerous roles across various industries.

The program is open to “People who have recently lost their job, been stood down or have reduced shifts as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and who have Australian working rights”.

The consistent levels of engagement and success enjoyed by our JVEN team in particular will be applied to this new frontier of assisting people facing hardship due to circumstances beyond their control. Ruth, our JVEN Manager, praises the team effort and dedication it takes to connect with individuals doing it tough and work with them to find the right employment path; “We should all be proud of the work that we do, as everyone has contributed to [our] success.”
